The eighteenth installment in the Need for Speed series is a racing video game called Need for Speed: The Run. Street racing is practised by players throughout actual American places. It is the largest Need for Speed game currently available with more than 300 kilometres (190 km) of road, three times more than Hot Pursuit. For the majority of event categories, winning the race requires the player to pass rivals. The players must stop their vehicle from being destroyed while under assault in time attack events and survival games. Depending on their performance, cars are categorized into tiers. The player can stop at a petrol station during a race to switch out their car and customize its appearance. The Run, in contrast to earlier Need for Speed games, includes moments when the player quits their automobile and is moving on foot. Only quick-time events may be played in these areas.
